Thomas Volk studied Islamic Studies and History at the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg im Breisgau and then completed the German-Turkish Masters Program in Social Sciences”at the Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara and at the Humboldt University in Berlin. Mr Volk was Coordinator of Islam and Religious Dialogue of the Foundation from 2014 to 2016. From 2016 to 2020, he headed the Senegal/Gambia Foreign Office of the Foundation. Since July 2020, he has been Head of the Foundation’s Southern Mediterranean Political Dialogue Regional Programme, based in Tunis.
