Andrea Sironi is a Professor of Banking and Finance and, since November 2022, the President of Bocconi University. I was Rector from 2012 to 2016. Since May 2021 he is President of the Italian Foundation for Cancer Research (AIRC), while in May 2022 he became Chairman of Assicurazioni Generali. Until April 2022 he was chair of Borsa Italiana, the Italian stock exchange.
Sironi has held visiting positions at the Research and Statistics Division of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, DC, at the Salomon Brothers Center, Stern School of Business (NYU), and at Sciences Po, Paris. In the past, he has been a member of the BoD of the London Stock Exchange Group, of the Intesa SanPaolo Group and of the Unicredit Group. At the beginning of his career, he was a financial analyst at the Chase Manhattan Bank in London.
