Indeed, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine does not seem to be motivated simply by territorial claims but by a more general refusal of the post-Cold War international system. However, evidence suggests that reality is more complex since the world is moving towards greater multipolarity. The MENA states’ reaction to the war has proven this well.
