Green hydrogen has emerged as a promising solution to accelerate the path towards energy transition worldwide. The current energy crisis and the quest for diversification of supplies unleashed by the war in Ukraine will probably accelerate the development of a green hydrogen economy. Due their geographic proximity and their renewable energy potential, many Middle Eastern and North African countries have developed ambitious strategies in the field and could become major suppliers of green hydrogen to Europe. What are the prospects and the opportunities for the development of a shared hydrogen industry between the two shores of the Mediterranean?
