The events of the past two years represent one of the darkest pages of the history not only of Israel-Palestine, but of the entire Mediterranean region. In Gaza, where more than 60,000 lives have been claimed, humanitarian conditions continue to deteriorate, while the prospect of a never-ending war looms in the background. Violence has been on the rise also in the West Bank, where the Palestinian Authority is grappling with the deepest crisis since its creation. In such a context, charting a path forward is a strenuous yet essential task. This session zooms in on Palestinian political dynamics, discussing the current crisis and trying to chart avenues for political change. What is needed to bring about a renewal of Palestinian institutions and governance processes? How can internal fragmentation be overcome? And how to build a vision for the future?
