Wolfram Lacher is a Senior Associate of Africa and Middle East at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP). He holds a PhD in Political Science from Humboldt University in Berlin and a Master’s Degree in Violence, Conflict & Development from SOAS, London. From 2007 to 2010 he was North Africa Analyst at Control Risk in London. His main fields of interest are North Africa and Middle East, Security and defence policy, Sub-Saharan Africa and non-State violence, Currently, he is Project Director of Megatrends Afrika.
