Prof. Sanaa Zebakh is the Director of the Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA), a position she assumed in September 2026. She brings over 23 years of experience in Euro-Mediterranean scientific cooperation, with extensive expertise in research, innovation, and international partnerships.

Prior to joining PRIMA, she served as Director of Cooperation and Partnerships at Morocco’s Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation. Involved in PRIMA since its inception, Prof. Zebakh has developed an in-depth understanding of the Partnership’s mission, structure, and strategic objectives, which she now brings to her leadership role in strengthening research and innovation cooperation across the Mediterranean region.
