Nomi Bar-Yaacov is an award-winning international peace negotiator, arbitrator and mediator, and a convenor of back-channel negotiations, principally but not exclusively in the Middle East. She has been the lead commentator on events in the Middle East for the past year for a number of leading media outlets. She advises a number of leading corporations and c-suite CEO’s on negotiations, offering bespoke advice to corporations and start-ups trying to up their negotiation strategy for better outcomes.
She is a sought out global keynote speaker in universities, literary festivals and corporate events. She sits on a number of Boards of organisations focussing on preventive diplomacy and contributing to a safer, healthier world. She currently lectures on diplomacy and negotiations. Nomi is a former speechwriter and a former Associate-Spokesperson for the UN Secretary General, Boutros Boutros Ghali, and a former political adviser in the Executive Office of the UN Secretary General, where she covered the Security Council. She is the former Director of the Middle East and Conflict Management programmes at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), and she is currently affiliated with the Global Fellowship programme at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy.
