Mohammad Bagheri was the Director of the History of Science and the International Relations Departments in the Encyclopaedia Islamica Foundation (Tehran) and was an Associate Professor in this institution when he was retired in 2011. Between 1997 and 2005, he was a member of the Executive Committee of the History of Science Division of the International Union of History and Philosophy of Science. In the period 2008-2012, he was the Chief Editor of Tarikh-e Elm (Iranian Journal for the History of Science) published by the History of Science Institute of the University of Tehran where he is an adjunct member of the Scientific Board. Since 2012, he has been the Chief Editor of the journal Miras-e Elmi-ye (Scientific Heritage), published by the Written Heritage Research Institute (Tehran). He is now a counselor of CHOSTIS (Commission for the History of Science and Technology in the Islamic Societies).
