Dr. Majed Al-Ansari is Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, a position he has held since February 2022. In this role, he leads Qatar’s diplomatic communication with the international community, engaging with media, political institutions, think tanks, and academia through regular briefings and interviews.

An academic and political analyst, he previously served as Director of Policy at the Social and Economic Survey Research Institute (SESRI) at Qatar University, where he also taught International Affairs. He is the founder and head of the Center for International Policy Research (CIPR), focusing on political risk analysis, Track Two diplomacy, regional security, and humanitarian issues.

His research centers on Gulf foreign and security policies, MENA regional dynamics, development aid, and conflict resolution. He has published widely, including the book Minority of Citizens (2020). Dr. Al-Ansari holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Leeds and an MA and PhD in Social Change from the University of Manchester.
