Al-Hamdani was appointed Minister of the Water Resources in 2020. Prior to this commitment he served as Directors-General of the Public Authority for Dams and Reservoirs, Director-General of the National Centre for Water Resources Management and Head of technical negotiating delegation on shared water and water rations between Iraq, Turkey, Syria and Iran. Moreover, he has been Under-Secretary of State for Water Resources and Adviser to the Acting Ministry of Water Resources.
