Holle Jakob is the Deputy Director-General of the Customs Department in the German Federal Ministry of Finance and since October 2020 responsible for the strategic management of the Customs Administration, Customs Investigation Service and Customs anti-money laundering measures.
She previously held various senior positions within the Ministry since 2006, including Head of Division of general issues of holdings management, international cooperation and general issues of privatisation policy. From May to August 2020, she served as an advisor at the German Embassy to the U.S.A in Washington, D.C. She began her career in the Federal Customs Administration.
Her academic background includes a second state examination in law, which she passed in November 2003 at the Court of Appeal Berlin, and a Doctor of Laws (Dr. iur.) degree, obtained with a dissertation on the agency of necessity in German, Spanish, and European private law.
