George Zeidan is the Carter Center’s Country Representative for Israel-Palestine, where he works to promote dialogue, nonviolence, human rights, democratic participation, and Palestinian political legitimacy. Born and raised between Jerusalem and Beit Jala in the West Bank, his personal background has given him first-hand experience of the political and social realities of the region, including restrictions on movement and the impact of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on everyday life.
He studied at Chowan University in North Carolina and later received a Fulbright Scholarship to attend the University of Southern California, where he earned a Master’s degree in Public Policy with a focus on nonprofit leadership. Before joining the Carter Center, he spent four years working with a Danish humanitarian organization on programmes in Gaza and the West Bank.
