Eshkol Nevo is one of Israel’s most celebrated contemporary novelists. A psychology graduate from Tel Aviv University and former advertising copywriter, he published his debut Bed & Breakfast (2001) before gaining widespread acclaim with his novel Homesick (2004), which earned the Book Publishers Association Gold Prize and the Raymond Wallier Prize in Paris.
Nevo has authored several bestselling novels-World Cup Wishes, Neuland, Three Floors Up, and The Last Interview-many of which have been translated into English, German, Italian, and more, with Three Floors Up adapted into a film by director Nanni Moretti. His works, blending intimate character studies with broader societal reflection, have earned awards including the Sapir Prize shortlist and Independent Foreign Fiction shortlists. Beyond writing, Nevo co-founded Israel’s largest private creative writing school, Sadnaot Habait, and regularly teaches writing at institutions like Bezalel Academy, Tel Aviv University, Sapir College, and the Open University of Israel. Grandson of former Prime Minister Levi Eshkol, he divides his time between mentorship and creative output, enriching Israeli and global literature.
