Ennio Cascetta

President, Tecne SPA- Gruppo Autostrade per l’Italia

Ennio Cascetta is Professor of Transportation Systems Planning, with a career spanning the University of Reggio Calabria, the University of Naples Federico II, Universitas Mercatorum, and more than 30 years as a visiting professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Author of over 200 scientific publications and textbooks widely adopted worldwide, he ranks among the top 1% of scientists globally according to Princeton University, with pioneering contributions to transport demand modeling, traffic theory, and mobility planning. 

Alongside his academic work, he has held major institutional and managerial roles: Scientific Coordinator of Italy’s General Transport and Logistics Plan (1999), Transport Councillor of the Campania Region (2000–2010), President of Federmobilità and Si.Po.Tra, President of ANAS (2018), CEO of RAM Logistica (2017–2020), and President of Metropolitana di Napoli (2017–2022). He currently serves as President of Cluster Trasporti Italia, President of Tecne S.p.A. (Autostrade per l’Italia Group), and Scientific Coordinator of the SUNRISE Observatory on Sustainable Road Mobility within Italy’s PNRR MOST project.
