Adel Hamaizia

Associate Fellow, MENA Programme, Chatham House

Adel Hamaizia is an associate fellow at Chatham House with the Middle East and North Africa Programme, working on political economy issues of the GCC countries and the Maghreb region. He is an independent consultant advising governments and private sector on and across the GCC and North Africa with a focus on political risk, economic and development issues. Adel is also committee vice-chairman of the Oxford Gulf and Arabian Peninsula Studies Forum (OxGAPS) – based at the University of Oxford – and co-editor of OxGAPS’ thematic-quarterly, Gulf Affairs. He is a researcher at the University of Oxford, focusing on the political economy of North Africa, and he also teaches Middle East politics there. Adel is also a senior teaching fellow at the Department of Financial and Management Studies at SOAS, University of London, and an associate at Global Partners Governance.
