The business sector has become the “collateral damage” of the ongoing war in the Middle East. The war is taking a toll on both Palestine and Israeli economies, while prolonged military operations in Lebanon and Houthi attacks in the Bab-el-Mandeb strait are disrupting trade in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Red Sea, undermining growth prospects across the region. Over the past year, critical infrastructure and key industries have suffered significant damage, maritime traffic has been displaced, energy supplies disrupted, and the business environment has grown increasingly uncertain. Operational costs and insurance premiums have soared, further straining the private sector.
How are companies active in the region navigating the ongoing crisis? How to improve business resilience? How is the war deterring investments and trade deals, affecting the whole economic cooperation in the area?
