Forum Youth

Since its first edition in 2015, the Rome MED Conference has promoted a Youth Forum with the purpose to gather young promising leaders distinguished for their innovative ideas and projects. Throughout this year, young leaders from across the MENA region have participated in the third editionof ‘MED Youth Forum Contest –Green & Sustainable Solutions for the Future’ promoted by ISPI and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and in cooperation with the Representation of Italy to the European Commission, ASSOCAMERESTERO, the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD), Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). The participants presented the projects that could most effectively facilitate the creation and implementation of a positive agenda inthe broad Mediterranean region and foster development as well as cooperation in the area. Young leaders have been focusing their ideas and proposals towards the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, falling under some of its SDGs: clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, responsible consumption and production. In total, 52 applications were received and assessed by a panel of jurists. Following this, the top 15 projects were selected and underwent training and vocational guidance opportunities before resubmitting their projects. The top 8best proposals were chosen and will be presented during the Youth Forum, where two winnerswill be selected.
