Paolo Magri is the Executive Vice President of the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) and Professor of International Relations at Bocconi University. He is a member of the Strategic Committee of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, of the Europe Policy Group of the World Economic Forum (Davos) and of the Board of Directors of the Italy-China Foundation. He is also a member of the Scientific Committees of the Elcano Royal Institute, the Center of Excellence for Stability Police Units (CoESPU) and of the Military Center for Strategic Studies (Ce.Mi.S.S.). He is a regular speaker, writer, and commentator to various media outlets on global issues, US foreign policy, Iran, and Middle East. Previously, he served as Programme Director to the UN Secretariat in New York and, up to 2005, as Director of International Affairs at Bocconi University in Milan.

Since June 2019, Fabio Pompei is the CEO of Deloitte Central Mediterranean. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of Deloitte North-South Europe.

He has been a member of Deloitte Global Board, Chief Executive Officer of Deloitte & Touche S.p.A. and a member of the Executive Committee of Deloitte Central Mediterranean. He has been also Talent Leader for Deloitte Italia from 2011 to 2015. Fabio Pompei still holds positions as a responsible partner for the auditing of important industrial groups, with significant experiences in coordinating auditing activities on national and multinational groups operating in many sectors.

Anna Ascani is the Italian Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economic Development since 1st March 2021.

She has been a member of the Chamber of Deputies since 2013. She is currently Vice-President of the Democratic Party and she formerly has been coordinator of the Culture Department of Democratic Party. She has been the Italian Deputy Minister of Education until February 2021.

She graduated in Philosophy at the University of Trento.

Mariangela Pira joined Sky Italia as an anchor and reporter in 2018. Prior to that, she spent 15 years with CNBC Italy, primarily covering financial news and foreign politics in China and Southeast Asia. During that time, she also worked on several documentaries at CNBC looking at Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Israel and Palestine. From 2008 to 2011, Mariangela collaborated with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, documenting the work of the Italian Development Agency across the world. She also continues to work as a volunteer Media Expert for the non-profit organization Terre des Hommes, where she researches, writes and broadcasts the impact of the organization’s programmes in Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Namibia.  Mariangela holds a bachelor’s in Communication, Journalism and Related Programs from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.

Professor of Philosophy and Ethics of Information at the University of Oxford and Professor of Sociology of Culture and Communication at the University of Bologna (from 2021-22). He is a world-renowned expert on digital ethics, the ethics of AI, the philosophy of information, and the philosophy of technology. He has published more than 300 works, translated into many languages. He is deeply engaged with policy initiatives on the socio-ethical value and implications of digital technologies and their applications, and collaborates closely on these topics with many governments and companies worldwide.

Nnenna Nwakanma advocates for policy and systemic changes that are needed for meaningful internet access, open data, open government and the open web across Africa, bringing together local and international stakeholders to advance the digital agenda.

Nnenna is a Diplo alumnus, an ICT4D Strategist, an expert in eParticipation and Citizen Engagement, one of the early pioneers of the Africa Data Revolution, a respected voice in the UN’s Internet Governance Forum, and Faculty at the Schools of Internet Governance.

Her career has allowed her to work closely with many civil society organisations, the African Development Bank, the Digital Solidarity Fund and has seen her involved in many phases of the UN’s Africa Information Society Initiative. Nnenna has in recent years co-founded The Free Software and Open Source Foundation for Africa, and served as a board member of the Open Source Initiative.

Karan Bhatia is the Head of Global Government Affairs and Public Policy at Google, where he advises Google’s leadership on policy issues and leads Google’s work with policy makers, government officials, and key political stakeholders in the United States and around the world.

Before joining Google in 2018, Bhatia served as President of GE’s Government Affairs & Policy function. He also served in senior positions in the US Government, including at the Departments of Commerce and Transportation, shaping US international economic policy. His last role was as Deputy U.S. Trade Representative, overseeing U.S. international trade policy with respect to Asia and Africa.

He is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on International Trade & Investment, and sits on the boards of a number of nonprofit and trade associations focused on international economic policy.

Andrew Williamson is currently Vice-President and Economic Advisor of the Government Affairs team at Huawei Technologies. Williamson is a key aide on global macroeconomic, political and industry trends. His research also involves the contribution ICT makes to economic growth and society.
Before joining Huawei, Williamson was Chief Economist at Dun & Bradstreet and Global Leader of its Country Risk department. His team provided their clients with timely advice and research on operational risks internationally, with a special focus on the risks faced by companies’ individual supply chains.
Andrew spent a few years furthering his interest in the theories of environmental economics, policy drafting and environmental impact assessment by undertaking a MSc in Environmental Policy and Regulation at the London School of Economics. He worked subsequently at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, specialising in research on the opportunities and risks posed by climate change on the financial sector.

Previous to this Andrew held a number of roles over many years at the Economist Intelligence Unit, including Global Director of Economic Research and Deputy Director of Country Forecasting. He began his career in the British Diplomatic Service.

Raja Chatila is Professor Emeritus of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and IT Ethics at Sorbonne University in Paris. He is former director of the SMART Laboratory of Excellence on Human-Machine Interactions and of the Institute of Intelligent Systems and Robotics. He contributes in several areas of Artificial Intelligence and autonomous and interactive Robotics as well as in ethics of information technologies.

He is chair of The IEEE Global Initiative on ethics of and Autonomous and Intelligent Systems. He is an IEEE Fellow and recipient of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Pioneer Award.

Uma Rani is Senior Economist at the Research Department of the International Labour Office. She is a Development Economist and has conducted research in informal economy, minimum wages and social policies. Since 2016, her research focuses on transformations in the digital economy, wherein she explores how labour and social institutions interact with public policies and can provide decent working conditions to workers. She has recently coordinated the publication of the ILO flagship report, World Employment and Social Outlook 2021: The role of digital labour platforms in transforming the world of work.

Andrea Poggi is Senior Equity Partner and member of the Executive Committee for Deloitte North and Southern Europe (NSE). He leads Innovation for the NSE Deloitte Network and the Clients and Industries practice (C&I) for Deloitte Central Mediterranean area (DCM).​

He laid the foundations for the development of Monitor, strategy advisory boutique, arm of Deloitte in Italy, with a focus on Corporate and Organizational Strategy, Business Plan, Marketing and M&A. In 2018, he founded Officine Innovazione, first Deloitte’s specialized advisory firm on Innovation Management, Open Innovation and Technological Transfer Services.​

He has more than 25 years of managerial experience in Strategy Consulting and the Corporate sector, as top manager of a Tier 1 Insurance Company. During his advisory carrier, he specialized in the Financial and Insurance services sectors.​

​Andrea has been University professor of Business Organization and has performed as speaker and subject matters expert in multiple highly-recognized events and seminars.​

Since January 2016, Peggy Hicks has served as director of the Thematic Engagement, Special Procedures and Right to Development Division of the UN Human Rights Office (OHCHR). She provides strategic direction to the UN Human Rights Office’s work on a broad range of pressing human rights issues, including human rights in the digital age and expanding civic space.

From 2005 to 2015, she was global advocacy director at Human Rights Watch, where she was responsible for managing Human Rights Watch’s advocacy team and providing direction to its advocacy worldwide.

Ms. Hicks previously served as the director of the Office of Returns and Communities in the UN mission in Kosovo and as Deputy High Representative for Human Rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She has also worked as the Director of Programs for the International Human Rights Law Group, and as clinical professor of human rights and refugee law at the University of Minnesota Law School. Ms. Hicks is a graduate of Columbia Law School and the University of Michigan.

Anne Marie Engtoft Larsen is Denmark’s Tech Ambassador with responsibility for representing the Danish Government to the global tech industry and in global governance forums on emerging technologies.

TechPlomacy is a pioneering initiative elevating technology and digitalization to a crosscutting foreign and security policy priority of the Danish government. Prior to her appointment, Anne Marie worked at World Economic Forum in Geneva (2017-2020) where she led the World Economic Forum’s work on the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Global Public Goods. Before joining the World Economic Forum, Anne Marie co-founded an innovation house for student entrepreneurship; co-founded Democratic Capital; worked as political advisor in the Danish Parliament; and served on the Board of Directors of Copenhagen Business School and The Danish Consumer Council.

Andrea Rigoni has been working in Cyber Security for more than 30 years. He is currently Partner in Deloitte Risk Advisory and leads Cyber in the Government and Public Services industry globally, working with many large governments and international organizations to improve their Cyber strategies and capabilities. Andrea leads also the Deloitte EU Digital Policy Center in Brussels. Andrea also served the Italian Prime Minister office between 2013 and 2014 as advisor to Cybersecurity: in his role, Andrea developed the Italian Digital Identity framework and co-developed the Italian National Cybersecurity strategy and framework. Andrea is also advisor to the UN/ITU on Cybersecurity, as well as a member of the Global Forum for Cyber Expertise (GFCE).

He is also a member of the Italian Government Committee on Artificial Intelligence. Andrea is also working for NATO and United Nations as advisor on Cyber Defence.

He has been Member of the Italian Parliament in the XVII legislature and member of the High Level Expert Group on Artificial Intelligence of the European Commission.

He is Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Agenzia per l’Italia Digitale, member of the Leadership council of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UNSDSN), Chairman of the Advisory Group on Advanced Technologies for Trade and Transport for UN/CEFACT, Member of the coordination board of the Digital with purpose movement.

Mr. Juwang Zhu is currently Director of the Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government/DESA. This is the second time he coordinated the work of the Division: he served as its Director in 2014-2015. Among his various assignments at the UN Secretariat, he served as Chief of the Office of the Under-Secretary-General/DESA (2008-2013). He was Special Advisor to the Secretary-General of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20). As Director of the Division for Sustainable Development Goals (2016-2019), he coordinated the Secretariat support for the High-level Political Forum, the UN Ocean Conference, and the Global Sustainable Transport Conference. Prior to his reassignment to DESA in 1993, Mr. Zhu had previously worked as a policy analyst in the secretariat of the UN World Food Council and in the UN Office in Geneva. He joined the UN Secretariat in 1985.

In 1991, she began her career with Microsoft Italia, where she moved through a series of increasingly strategic roles – as Central Marketing Director – until she reached the role of Director Corporate Social Responsibility and National Development. On July 1st 2014 she was promoted to Director of National Development for Western Europe. This assignment has helped her to establish important relations on an institutional level, participating in numerous projects with government, local bodies, and national associations and organisations.

Since September 1st 2016, she is Municipal Councillor for Digital Transformation and Citizens Services for the Municipality of Milan, working directly with the Mayor, Mr. Giuseppe Sala. Her main objective is to leverage digital transformation to offer simpler and better digital services to all citizens, letting Milan become a lighthouse for innovation.

On March 8th 2010, Roberta Cocco was conferred a knighthood as Commendatore dell’Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana by President of the Italian Republic Giorgio Napolitano. In 2021, she has been nominated co-chairwoman of the Advisory Committee for Digital Public Administration for the Italian Ministry of technological innovation and digital transition.

Maria Chiara Carrozza received the M.Sc. degree in physics from University of Pisa, Italy, in 1990, and the Ph.D. degree in engineering from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa, in 1994.

She was a Rector with Biomedical Engineering and Robotics, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna from 2007 to 2013.

In 2013 through 2014 she was the Italian Minister for University, Education and Research.

She is currently a Full Professor with Biomedical Engineering and Robotics, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, and Scientific Director of Fondazione Don Carlo Gnocchi, a network of Research Hospitals dedicated to Rehabilitation Medicine. Her research interests are in wearable robotics and rehabilitation engineering.

Chair of the B20 Digital transformation Task Force. Former Ceo of Sky Italia, over the past years he served also as CEO of Royal KPN, a leading telecommunications company in The Netherlands, and as CEO and Director General of Wind Tre. He joined WindTelecommunications in 2004 and served as Commercial Director. Before 2004, Mr. Ibarra held several leadership positions at FIAT Auto (as VP Strategies & Business Development of the Business Unit Servizi), DHL (as COO) and Benetton Group (as Global VP Marketing & Communication). Since 2005 he is Professor of Marketing and Digital Marketing at the Guido Carli Luiss University & Business School in Rome. He is member of the board of directors of Mediobanca and of the Advisory Board of WPP/The European House – Ambrosetti.
