In recent years, developments in Gaza, Syria, Sudan and other regions, have highlighted the many vulnerabilities faced by international humanitarian actors. Challenges such as security threats, inadequate funding, and politicisation are just some of the dangers humanitarian action is facing in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. In this fragile context, exacerbated by conflict and natural disasters, ensuring access to international aid has become increasingly crucial.
How can the international community contribute to overcome the main challenges affecting aid response? What can be done to work collectively to make sure that humanitarian assistance is not politicised? With regards to Gaza specifically, what strategies can the humanitarian community implement to better sustain humanitarian efforts?
