The ongoing instability in the Middle East, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and broader geopolitical realignments in the region demand a renewed commitment to multilateralism, sustainable reconstruction, and inclusive diplomacy. The India-Middle East-Europe Corridor (IMEC) can play a strategic role in this regard.

This closed-door roundtable, organised by EcoPeace Middle East with the support of the MED Dialogues and ECCO think tank, will convene senior experts, institutional representatives, and private sector leaders to discuss how IMEC can be a pathway for stability and prosperity in the Middle East via the integration of the Peace Triangle initiative into its strategic framework.

The Peace Triangle addition to IMEC, developed by EcoPeace Middle East, envisions trilateral cooperation between Israel, Palestine, and Jordan through shared infrastructure projects in water, energy, and transport. Embedding this initiative within IMEC would elevate the corridor from a logistical route to a platform for inclusive green growth, laying the foundation for healthy interdependencies which are conducive to regional stabilization.

The Peace Triangle would also provide a concrete mechanism to link the reconstruction of Gaza to broader regional integration, helping to unlock political and financial support from Gulf countries and international partners, which can again be linked to the IMEC investment framework.   In this framework, the session aims at exploring how the Peace Triangle initiative can be embedded within the IMEC Corridor as a catalyst for regional cooperation, sustainable development and healthy interdependencies. This entails identifying actionable pathways for investment and public-private partnerships in clean energy, water security, and resilient infrastructure as drivers for long-term sustainable development and stability.

The discussion will also touch upon Italy’s potential strategic role in championing green reconstruction and sustainable peacebuilding in the Middle East via the IMEC framework. This includes investing in green infrastructure, renewable energy, and resilient urban systems that not only address immediate humanitarian needs but also lay the foundation for long-term prosperity and regional cooperation.
